How to resolve my sleeping troubles?

I am 13 years old, and I am at school (obviously) and I have to wake up at 7:30am to get ready for school that begins at 9:00am.
What can I do to get sleep at 9:30pm or 10pm to wake up feeling good and replenished knowing that I have got a decent amount of sleep. I often worry that I wont get sleep and will hardly have any sleep and will feel terrible in the morning, how can I get some good sleep?
My mum bought me last thursday some herbal remedies (White Chestnut and Quick-life Tablets which both promote natural sleep), along with these is there any other things I should be aware of to get some good uninterrupted sleep? :)

What’s the best over the counter medicine/aid to take for sleeping?

I really have trouble sleeping, mostly because I always have the tendency to stay up late (regardless of how early I wake up…I think it’s a psychological issue with time) and it’s very hard for me to wake up early.

So, there are of course times when I need to wake up early, like 7 or 8, when I’ve been used to going to sleep at 3 or 4 and waking up at 12 or 1. When these times come, I always end up trying to sleep early but can’t fall asleep for hours, and I wake up with 3-4 hours sleep and feel horrible the rest of the day. I then struggle to fall asleep early that night too.

I’m looking for a good OTC medicine or sleep aid for this problem. I want something POWERFUL, I’m not afraid of it being addictive because I’ll be using it once a week at most. I have this herbal stuff, Valerian Extract, it makes me feel sleepy after about 20 minutes, but it doesn’t last long and goes away in about 10 minutes, so if I don’t fall asleep in that little time window, I’m screwed.
To repeat, I’m looking for the most powerful medicine/sleep aid to make me fall asleep. I’ve used Nyquil but I don’t like it because of the alcohol and drowsiness in the morning, it works well otherwise. And I’ve used Unisom too, it works pretty well.

I’ve heard that the new Alka-Seltzer Liquid Cold PM really knocks you out. And if you know of anything better, please let me know!
Yes, I’ve also used Melatonin, forgot to mention it. I stopped using it when a friend of mine told me that his psychologist informed him that melatonin causes dysphoria – it blocks the production of serotonin, the compound that basically creates the sense of hapiness and well being in the brain.

Maybe taking it once a week isn’t bad, but that just scared me away from it.

Any Home cures for insomnia!?!?!?

So heres the issue, My friend is having trouble sleeping. He’s going on like 4 days without sleep and im really worried about him. He tried taking benadryl and that didn’t work. He tried listening to music. He tried reading a boring book. So if anyone has any ideas for a home remedy like one that pretty much anyone can do without having to go out and buy things to make it. I really appreciate any advice a lot. so thanks yall.

There is a lot on his mind. and i mean A LOT. He has talked to me for a bit and then tried to sleep again. Im not sure if it has worked. but even with talking sometimes ya still cant sleep. Because no matter how much you talk. Some things are not going to go away. So i am looking for some Remedies. He told me if he still couldn’t sleep he would call me back, so im just trying to get some ideas ready. I would have suggested a nice warm bath or shower to him but he has been awake for so long i fear he would fall asleep and injure himself if not worse drown.

Suggestions for sleeping?

No matter what i try i cannot sleep. It takes me forever to get to sleep and even if i do sleep i don’t reach REM sleep. Ive tried advil PM, taking hot baths/showers before i go to bed, reading, homeopathic remedies, tea without caffeine, watching tv, you name it ive done it. Do you think i need a stronger sleep aid? Or does anyone have other ideas without resulting to meds? (Please dont suggest having sex)
I have been like this for a long time, most of the time i just ignore it and jsut know ill be tired a lot
But lately its getting really annoying

I work over night as security over night. I usually get home about 9am. By this time I am really tired. My problem is I cannot sleep long 3-4 hours max. I need help but don’t want to rely on medicine to make me go to sleep but a healthier natural sleep aide.

I live next to a freeway and can’t get any sleep at night. I was wondering if anyone knew of any powerful over the counter sleeping pills or liquids. I need something that’ll put me into a deep sleep because i’m a very light sleeper and it’s impossible for me to get any sleep because of the freeway.

Is it bad to take over counter sleeping pills every night?

I use to have a job where I’d get home late at night and stay up all night and if I had to work the next day I would go for days without sleep. I decided at the time to start taking a sleep aid that is cheap and over the counter. Something that has the effect as a cold medication that knocks you out but does not make you feel as drugged out. I discovered “simply sleep”. It does not have any kind of pain medication in it. The only ingredient is called “diphenhydramine” which is also Benadryl. People with allergies take this everyday and other people (like my MOM!) take TYLENOL arthritis pills every single day which is much more harmful than this in my opinion. It really helps me sleep and if I try to go without it I don’t sleep at all. I have been taking it every night for a long time now even long after I left the night job. I have not been to a doctor in a long time, I hardly ever get sick and I don’t feel I am doing anything wrong. It gives me a light drowsiness with no side effects in the morning. But am I fooling myself? Is this bad to be taking every night like this for so long?
